We are sponsoring this fifth annual Christmas at the Citadel Stadium along with many businesses, churches and non- profits. Last year 1,000 volunteers came along with 2,000 guests. Last year we gave out 400 bikes for children, 800 other gifts for kids, 2,000 meals, and 3,000 pairs of socks, coats, blankets, music, donuts and more. This year, we are distributing 500 bicycles, 3,000 meals, 1,000 gifts, 4,000 pairs of socks, coats and blankets, Christmas boxes for kids, as well as offering a lot of other services such as haircuts, and medical and dental screening, all on Christmas Day.
Now that we have all of the paperwork in place, feel free to begin recruiting volunteers to represent your organization. As you do so, encourage people to complete their Volunteer Applications as soon as possible for the maximum number of options regarding volunteer opportunities. As we have done in the past, we will close specific dates and shifts when we have reached our maximum number of volunteers needed. As always, our greatest need for volunteers is on Thanksgiving Day. Please note that this year we will only be able to provide Race Day Volunteers t-shirts to those who submit their volunteer application by noon on Tuesday, November 22.
Gordon Cashwell is a writer and speaker who believes revival in America may be as simple as finding the moral compass and true religion of the Bible that Christians had at the beginning of the country. He is founder and director of Without Walls Ministry, a non- profit which equips and encourages churches and organizations for community involvement and evangelism outside the four walls of the church. Their motto is "WWJB- Where Would Jesus Be?"
